Shower Gels and Body Washes are used in gigantic quantaties each and every day. A lot of the conventional shower gels contain solid microplastics (microbeads) as exfoliants and liquid microplastics such as Acrylates Copolymer to form the gel like consistency.

With the sewage water a lot of the microplastics get washed into the wildlife as even modern sewage treatment plants can’t filter the plastics, especially in liquid form.

What is actually the difference between body wash and Shower Gel?

Although they are both liquid cleansers used on the body, the main difference between the two is textural. The shower gel has a firmer, gel-like consistency, while body wash is more like liquid soap. However, due to the formulation, body washes are more moisturizing and hydrating than shower gels.
