Plastic Free Cotton Ear Buds

Is it symbolism or is it really good for the environment. From 2021 onwards, plastic items such as plastic cutlery, straws, balloon holders or cotton swabs with a plastic handle will be banned in the EU.

A few years ago, my wife had the unpleasant experience when the cotton swab came loose from the plastic stick in her ear. It was on a weekend and the cotton was stuck in her ear, so we had to go to the emergency room to get it removed.

Since then we have have been using only cotton swabs without plastic. With the cardboard or bamboo sticks, the cotton is attached more securely than on the plastic sticks.

Here are some cotton swab products that are plastic-free:

Carolov Bamboo Cotton Swabs

Bamboo is a rapidly renewable raw material. Some bamboo plants can grow up to one yard a day. Therefore, this raw material is also suitable for the sustainable production of cotton swabs.

Carolov vegan earbuds are made from bamboo and sustainable cotton. The packaging is made from recycled cardboard. No adhesive strips are used. Everything is 100% compostable.

Sky Organics organic Cotton Swabs

The Sky Organics bamboo cotton swabs are 100% biodegradable and are only made from organically grown bamboo. The cotton swabs do not contain any dyes, chemicals or plastics. They consist of natural raw materials and are also very stable. Made with GOTS Certified Cotton & Chlorine and Fragrance-Free.

Bambaw bamboo cotton swab

The Bambaw cotton buds are 100% biodegradable. The eco cotton buds come in a come in a recycled paper box. This is another eco friendly alternative to polluting plastic cotton swabs.

In the drugstore there are now cotton swabs without plastic, also cheap ones with a cardboard swab – another small step to remove unnecessary plastic from our everyday life
