Established in 1922 by Martin Fichtner, Fichtner has been evolved from an at first regionally focused engineering office into Germany's largest independent firm of consulting engineers of international standing.

The Fichtner Group, with its subsidiaries and associated companies, has more than 1,600 employees worldwide, of whom the home office in Stuttgart employs over 300 experienced engineers, economists and management consultants in a wide variety of specialist fields.

This combination of engineering and consulting, as required for the realization of large-scale projects, with traditional management consultancy services is unique.

The company is headed by a management which, with its chairman, has overall responsibility for the company. The body which supervises the company's management is an advisory board, elected by the shareholders and consisting of reputable persons, which supervises the management and advises and supports it in all important matters relating to business policy and corporate planning.
